CALM Body and Home

I came to create CALM Body and Home through my own health journey, and that of my sons.

It was nearly 8 years ago that my surgeon told me that he could only fathom toxic exposure was the reason why I ended up on his operating table.

From that day on I discarded every undecipherable concoction in my kitchen and bathroom cabinets and to think that I also potentially damaged my two young sons health was devastating to me.
I was doing what I do best and was renovating our family home, and given my background is interior decorating, I was proud of my knowledge of the latest products on the market.  So installing bamboo flooring and allergy-friendly carpets was a no-brainer for me.  How wrong could I be!

The glues and toxins in these products, and what was used for our installation, completely tipped our health over the edge.  I hemorrhaged for nine weeks, and my sons and I suffered flu-like symptoms with red eyes, headaches and overall lethargy.  Coupled with our genetic mutation of the MTHFR gene (which 50% of the population have, most of which are undiagnosed) it was even more damaging for us.

So over these last several  years I have been creating, making and passing on to loved ones my recipes and knowledge, and I feel now is the time to share what has worked the most effectively for us as a family.

Going through financial difficulties, I also got frustrated that being healthy can be expensive - but it doesn't have to be.

I believe in a holistic approach so ensure  we eat only 'clean' anti-inflammatory foods, only put natural products on our bodies and use natural products in our home.

I've had the joy of sharing my knowledge through workshops and private consultations and now I get to share what we use as a family to all of those who want to live more healthy, non-toxic lives.

We only use the highest quality ingredients available and that's all we package - if we won't use it, we won't sell it and we aim to provide our beautiful pure products at the best possible price.
