As part of our new ‘meet the experts’ category I am so pleased to have Em owner of Happy Hands Happy Heart – All Natural Scented Playdough kick it off with some of the goings on from her Bendigo abode.
Tell us a little about yourself…
I’m a creative, a tea lover, a mother of 3 kind and spirited little ones, a wife, and love a good
family dance off/ karaoke, disco party.
Tell us about your biz…
Happy Hands Happy Heart was launched in 2014. We create a range of all natural scented
playdoughs, specifically designed to enhance calm and well being and to reduce stress and
anxiety. We are passionate about calm creative play in an eco friendly way.
What’s your non-negotiable eco or health wise?
Eco, to travel though this journey of ours as
thoughtfully and as lightly as possible. Our family try to be as eco friendly as we can, we are
not perfect, and we still have a lot to learn, but with every purchase, we do our best to
consider if we need it, if it will last, how many times will we use it and if there is an eco
friendlier version. I think being eco friendly is all just about making mindful decisions.
Go to snack?
A cup of tea and a slice of toast, chocolate, or some dip and sugar snap peas, or a biscuit as
I am rushing out the door. Not perfect, but delicious.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
Sing
What was the last book you read?
I just finished reading Slow by Brooke McAlary
What do you love most about being in business?
The flexibility it offers me, for my family, the complete creative license it allows me, and the
truly amazing business owners and creatives I have become friends with along the way.
They are an inspiring, intelligent, fierce bunch of kind awesome people.
What do you do to relax?
Make, cuddle on the couch with my little loves and watch a movie, read.
What’s an eco switch that you have implemented in your household?
Reusable straws, bamboo toothbrushes, the kids received chickens from Santa this year, to
help with our household waste to compliment our composting and looking at second hand
options before buying new.
What does the future of Happy Hands Happy Heart look like?
Lots of the same, with a few new adventures thrown in I hope. Making and creating,
continuing to encourage others to make and create too, and making people smile in the
process.
Thank you so much Em for sharing your story. Be sure to head over to her page and check out her gorgeous play doughs and accessories.
