The story behind the biz with Liz owner of Shekinah Glow

Tell us a little about yourself…

My name is Liz and I am a wife and a mum of 3. 2 girls and a boy. I have always had a love for makeup and had some fun times with it. I have a thyroid problem and so that can make my life challenging.

Tell us about your biz?…

Shekinah Glow is my Independent beauty brand. I started my own line out of a need to find healthy beauty products that will love my body back. I am passionate about research ingredients and learning all about the wonderful things nature has to offer us and putting that into beautiful products that are safe and love our bodies.

What’s your non-negotiable eco or health wise?

No tap water. No Chlorine and Fluoride for me. Both are bad for people with Thyroid problems. They take any extra iodine that you put into your body and use it to detox the chlorine and fluoride. I also mostly drink from glass as well. And no non organic apples for our family. We can’t always afford all organic but know the fruit that is the most toxic is a really great start for your family and avoid those.

Go to snack?

I actually have a sugar free drink I go to for a pick me up then some I really bounce around to a few different things depending on how I feel.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

A healthy cake decorater. Lol

What was the last book you read?

Haven’t read one for a while. More doing topical research studying.

What do you love most about being in business?

Connecting with people and talking with like minded people who follow the same path as me.

What do you do to relax?

Relax what is that? Lol chill with my hubby watching some tv and doing some crocheting.

What is an eco switch that you have implemented in your household?

Natural house cleaners and healthy washing powder.

What does the future of Shekinah Glow look like?

I would say it might have a few different outlooks. From developing lots more amazing beauty product options to empowering women to know more about what they are using on their bodies and to value themselves to make positive changes for their health. Also another area I am taking a step into is educating our tweens and teens in the same area’s. Teach them when they are young to make wise choice for healthier bodies now and in the future.
